Island History / Launch Ad
Whiskey is an anglicised way of saying "Uisce" -- the Irish for water. Our island is surrounded by the cleanest waters in Europe, and are visited by rain-clouds scrubbed clean across thousands of miles of Atlantic ocean.
Though we have natural springs on the island, often is the time we have gazed up at the sky, felt soft days descending upon us from the clouds, and thought, "That's the water we should use for our whiskey!
So, when taking our whiskey down from original cask to bottling strength, we use rainwater that is collected on Inish Turk Beg; rainwater that, in its journey over the Atlantic, reaches us pure, celestial and fresh, and gives our whiskey its clean and characterful profile.
