Leisure
From holidays and birthday parties to weddings, anniversaries, and family reunions, Inish Turk Beg welcomes groups of friends and family for all occasions. The island brings drama and unparalleled beauty to those "big days", space and quietude to personal gatherings -- and an unforgettable dose of inspiration and invigoration to all who stay.
Some kinds words from some recent visitors:
"I was on Inishturkbeg with a group of 10 friends for a week, and I can honestly say it was the best holiday I have ever been on with friends. Staying on the island allowed us the flexibility to do whatever we wanted whenever we wished, with chosen activities ranging from horse rides across the island, to banana boating and water skiing, to sailing and playing tennis. I don’t think we would run out of things to do even if we had stayed the whole summer! Besides from that it was great to escape from the mainland and everyday life, and it was like we were in our own world. You could easily not see another person for a whole week, yet civilisation is just a five minute boat ride away. Great accommodation, stunning scenery, and a great week with my friends. There’s not much else I could ask for."

"I’ve stayed on the island twice now, each time for a celebration, and I can imagine going back for the rest of my life. I’ve never had training in shooting, but I was the crack-shot of the group. You find out so much about yourself there."
— Nicky Gojkovic
"All I can say is this is the most magical place in Ireland, and at Quintessentially we see a lot of places claiming to have your level of beauty and service. Johnny, Mandy, Louisa, Nicola and Rachel -- you have the best jobs in the world! You really made our weekend so special. From the food, your hospitality, the boat rides, the horseriding ... there just wasn't enough time to do everything! The level of care you took with everything is really commendable. Thank you so much for everything."
— Louise O'Riordan
"We have just returned from your island after having the most wonderful weekend. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you personally as I know you donated the whole experience for charity, for which I am glad to have been able to be in a position to donate.
The Island House is a dream and feels both luxurious and homely. The views are beyond description, so varied and even changeable throughout the day. We enjoyed the pool and leisure games, we played tennis and trecked horses (though feel bad for the horses, so bad were our riding skills!). We went on a boat trip which everyone enjoyed, and ate like royalty.
The setting is magical, but what made it for me was the friendlyness of Johnny and Mandy with their daughter Clare, and of course their team of Rachael and cook Sue. Johnny and Mandy are the perfect hosts, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable.
To give you a wee example, my friend Jon -- who is a giant -- phoned me last night to thank me. He said for him the highlight was as follows, and I quote, "Sitting on Marcus riding up a steep hill assisisted by these lovely horse guides. The rain was teaming down, and we were all soaked through. As we reached the crest of the hill, we spotted our wives, also in the pissing rain, feeding the sheep with Johnny -- our wives who wouldn't leave their own house if it was raining in London. Surreal!"
I am fortunate to have travelled to many great places around the world, but for me there is no better than your Inish Turk Beg.
We commend you on what you have achieved and wish you years of success and happiness there."
